Hello World

Hello,

               My name is John Fennell. I am currently incarcerated in a Texas prison. I was sentenced to life without parole in 2010, I am from San Antonio, TX and 47 years old. I was arrested in 2008 for a Capital Murder and Aggravated Robbery charges. It was horrible in the beginning but I have to honestly say, here in prison is where I finally found myself. It is one of those things, you either swim or drown, I was drowning at first.

It was at my lowest that God came in and showed me he does really care. I would often pray to God and ask why did this happen, with no return answer. I now believe I needed it to sit down and focus on how. Well I didn't know how to do that. He helped me change my life in June of 2012. I woke up one morning and I was different. It was just that simple, no magic chants, no nothing. God knew I was fed up with the way I was living.

Today makes 11 years sober, no smoking or drinking. I've even renounced my gang affiliation, all Thanks to God! He's even blessed me with a wonderful wife. One of my daughters was even bought back into my life after years of no contact. God is amazing you should really try him. He's not done with me yet, you just see!

We won't let those cell doors define who I am anymore. Who I am, is a regular guy from San Antonio's Eastside. I have two brothers and one sister who I love dearly, and truly miss. I always was the class clown, because I love to laugh and make people laugh. Also, I love to draw and write as well.

My wife and I, with the help of the Lord, got my book published. It's titled "GREED". It is about ….. ha, you thought I was going to tell you. Nope, go check it out, it is pretty good. I have three children that even through they don't know, but I am very proud of them. If you guys ever get a chance to read this, I love you all with all of my heart and I am truly sorry for not being the best dad I could be.

To anyone who cares, I not who or what the papers say I am. I am innocent, and I am a different man from who I was many years ago. My family and friends may not even believe it is me, but it is. The man God wanted me to be.
